What a fun weekend!

I finished my taxes on Friday (yippee!), so thought I would reward myself with a fun-filled weekend. I started out by meeting my good friends for breakfast on Saturday to celebrate three of their birthdays. We had a great time over some good food at Honeyberry Cafe.

On Sunday morning, I attended The Washington Street Market in Naperville.
Mark Norkaitis of Room 363 always puts on a beautiful show.
There were several of these gorgeous over-sized wreaths available to purchase.
And just look at this fabulous painted piano. When I was leaving the market a gentleman was 'tinkling the ivories' fill the air with wonderful music.
The vendors are always top-notch at this market.

After the market, it was time to move on to The Midwest Meet-Up in Lisle organized by Jen Rizzo for local bloggers to get-together.

There was an array of snacks to munch on. Jen had her darling three daughters and sweet hubby helping her set everything up.
Then we got down to brass tacks and serious blogger business discussing the latest in blogging trends and social media.

Jen is the cute gal standing in the pic above. It was so great to meet some new blogging friends. My head is still spinning from all the information exchanged. I can't believe how much this industry has changed since I started blogging eight years ago.
These gals were so knowledgeable and really work hard at making a living through their blogs.

Tail Wagging Fun

This weekend I am having a much better time than I was last weekend (see previous post). I am dog-sitting for my two sweet grand dogs, Shooter and Hank. They are the best dogs ever!
I decided to snap a few photos of them while they are here,
but that is much easier said than done.
Trying to get two dogs to stay still at the same time is no small feat.
My daughter is able to capture all sorts of pictures of the two of them posing quite nicely for the camera. But not me . . . .
One or the other is always out of focus.
Ahhh finally. . . .Here is a nice shot of Hank.
But the best way to capture them on film is . . . .
. . . while they are sleeping!

Weekend Fun

In addition to working on finishing off the second floor of our cottage,
we did have a little fun on Labor Day Weekend at the annual Marina Fest near our cottage.
It was a perfect day without a single cloud in the sky, as you can see.
There was the fun loving dingy boat races. . . .
The daring waterski show. . . .
And a whole lot of entries in the wood boat contest. . . .
They really were quite beautiful. . . .
Wonderful craftsmanship. . . .
The one below was my husband's favorite - although I think he was more interested in the
vintage Ford truck than the wood canoe on top of it. . . .

I liked the way they had the truck bed styled for a day on the lake. . . .
Not a wooden boat, but a woody Ford Sportsman convertible - just look at those whitewalls!
Not sure if this boat was made of wood, but automobile fins on the back had me intrigued!
We ended the day by going to the drive-in movie theater to see Julie and Julia (which was adorable, by the way) and watch a gorgeous sunset.
There's still time to enter my Birthday Celebration GIVEAWAY. You can sign up over here!
